The game prioritizes finishing the animation over killing them, so when it's done they're dead but moving. That last one, the weakest of the group, always has a very low Confidence setting in this particular random event, and while you're engaged with his more aggressive buddies will run away hollering "Death is highly overrated!" and "Please don't kill me!" and the like even before you have a chance to hit him once. As far as I know, this is a vanilla issue that occurs when you kill an enemy when they're in the middle of certain animations. Some types of enemies always have Confidence set to a high setting, other types always low, and yet others have a random setting, meaning they can be different each time you meet such an enemy.įor example, there's a random encounter that spawns a group of 4 bandits - when you're sufficiently high leveled, two of the four will be Bandit Chiefs, one will be Bandit Marauder and one will be Bandit Thug or Outlaw. Attacks unless being outmatched by the opponent. Attacks only lower level enemies.Ģ: Average.
